How we calculate smart money consensus

We monitor trades in the prediction market in real time by pulling directly from Polymarket. Every Polymarket trade settles on the Polygon blockchain, so the fills are public: the wallet, market traded on, position, number of contracts, and price. We monitor these trades as they happen.

For each wallet we see trading, we look up its lifetime profit and loss on Polymarket, the same all-time P&L shown on a trader's public Polymarket profile. A wallet qualifies as smart money once that number clears our threshold: $10K+ for the picks and positioning feeds, with a higher bar for some alerts. We refresh this regularly, so if a wallet starts losing it will drop out of the feed.

Trading responsibly

Remember that smart money is a guide, and not a guarantee of results. Wallets with a strong track record can still be wrong, and past profit doesn't promise future results. A large trade isn't automatically well-informed either, and plenty of traders can be wrong when taking a large position. It’s best not to assume a trader has better information than you. Prices can also move between when a trade lands on our feed and when you act on it, so always check the current price before you trade.

You'll get more out of this data in markets you already follow or understand well. Smart money can point you toward where conviction is building, but you're still best placed to judge a market you know. Treat this data the way you'd treat any input to speculative trading. Verify each platform's resolution criteria and rules, and only trade what you can afford to lose.
