Anthropic $2.5T Valuation Chances Fall After Reuters IPO Report

Anthropic now looks less likely to reach a $2.5 trillion valuation by December 31. On Oct. 15, Reuters reported that some investors are discussing an IPO valuation of about $1.5 trillion, down from the roughly $2 trillion expected for the November share sale, according to Investing.com's Reuters report. If that lower figure prevails, the $2.5T target sits further out of reach.

Polymarket's "Will Anthropic's valuation hit __ by December 31?" market priced the ↑$2.5T outcome at 25% on Oct. 19, down from 31% three days earlier, a drop of 6 percentage points.

Consensus prediction market price

Reuters tied the lower figure to slowing sequential revenue growth disclosed at Anthropic's Oct. 14 investor day in San Francisco. Anthropic said Q3 revenue rose 45% to $16.8B from $11.6B in Q2, a pace some investors read as a deceleration after Q1's $4.7B. The Telegraph framed the shift as a $500B cut to the valuation. The report describes investor discussions, not a priced deal: Anthropic declined to comment and has not published a revised price or range.

What $2.5T Now Requires Versus the $2T Pitch and $1.5T Chatter

A $2.5T valuation is 25% above the roughly $2T pitched for the November sale and about 67% above the $1.5T figure investors discussed. Measured against the only official mark, the $965B Series H post-money from May 28, 2026, the target is roughly 2.6 times higher.

The $1.5T figure remains chatter from some investors, not a final price. The $2T pitch could hold, and shares could trade at a different value once listed. An unnamed longtime investor quoted by Fortune predicted a price near $1.8T with trading value of $2.3T to $2.4T, still short of the threshold. The sources do not establish how the final price will be set or which valuation measure resolves the market.

The next milestone is the November share sale. A confirmed pricing range or a company response to the Reuters report would either confirm the reset or reverse it. Readers can follow the full ladder of thresholds on the Anthropic valuation by December 31 market page.
