- Traders are cooling on Tesla building 1,000 Semis in a single 2026 quarter as doubts grow over how fast the Nevada plant can ramp.
Will Tesla Produce More Than 1,000 Semi Trucks in a Quarter in 2026? The Market Says About 32%
Above 1000 is the market asking whether Tesla will produce more than 1,000 Semi trucks in a single quarter in 2026, and the market currently gives that outcome about a 32% chance, down from 38%. Tesla's Semi factory in Sparks, Nevada, is rated to build about 50,000 trucks a year, roughly 12,500 a quarter, but reported output sits far below that. Electrek estimates Q3 2026 Semi deliveries in the "hundreds." Tesla has not disclosed Semi-specific production figures. CNBC reports that Tesla aims to reach high volumes by 2027, not in 2026.
On Kalshi, the "Above 1000" outcome in the "How many Semi Trucks will Tesla Produce in a quarter in 2026?" market traded at 32% on Oct. 13, down 6 percentage points from 38% over three days. That figure is the implied probability traders assign to the outcome. It is not a Tesla forecast or a poll. The 32% price matches the period low. We could not establish a specific event that caused the drop.

Tesla Semi Capacity vs. Output: Why 12,500 a Quarter Doesn't Mean 1,000
The 50,000-truck figure describes what the plant is designed to build. It does not describe what the plant is building today. Tesla formally launched volume production and customer deliveries at a plant event on Sept. 24, according to Reuters. All Things Elon describes the line on Oct. 9 as "ramping toward" that capacity.
Electrek's estimate of deliveries in the "hundreds" is the only public quantitative signal on Q3. It measures deliveries, not production, so it is an indirect proxy. Tesla could have built more trucks than it handed over. The figure still leaves a wide gap to 1,000.
If CNBC's report of a 2027 target for high volumes is accurate, 2026 is a ramp year. That makes Q4 the main test for this market, since it is the first full quarter after the September launch. Analyst projections of 5,000 to 15,000 Semis for full-year 2026 exist, but they are not Tesla guidance. They also sit awkwardly beside a Q3 figure in the hundreds.
How Would the "Above 1000" Market Resolve if Tesla Doesn't Report Semi Production?
Tesla's Q2 2026 manufacturing capacity table lists the Nevada Semi line as "Commissioning," per Tesla's Q2 update. The company has not committed to reporting Semi figures separately in its quarterly results. Electrek's Oct. 7 report on Tesla's "Other Models" deliveries shows how Tesla groups smaller lines into a single combined bucket. If Semi volumes stay inside that category, there may be no official number to compare against 1,000.
As a result, settlement depends on whatever source the contract's rules name. Our sourcing did not include the exact resolution language. Traders should check the criteria on the Tesla Semi quarterly production market page. In particular, they should confirm whether the contract counts production or deliveries, and what happens if Tesla publishes no figure before the Jan. 1, 2027 resolution date.
Orders do not settle the question either. ZET SCALE's selection of Tesla for 2,500 trucks, Einride's 500-truck order and IMC's 50-truck order show demand. None of these sources ties those orders to 2026 production volumes.
A Tesla disclosure of Semi-specific production, whether in its Q3 shareholder update or its Q4 report, could reset the market in either direction.
