Ethereum has not hit $2,600 in October. On Polymarket's "What price will Ethereum hit in October?" market, the ↑ 2,600 outcome stood at a 44% implied probability on Oct. 17. ETH traded near $2,420 that day, about $180 (roughly 7%) below that level, with two weeks left in the month, according to Lypp. Three pressures hit in the same week: a hotter-than-expected September CPI on Oct. 14, reports of a possible U.S. strike on Iran that lifted oil, and steady spot ether ETF outflows.

Will Ethereum Hit $2,600 in October? Traders Now Say 44%

The ↑ 2,600 outcome fell to 44% on Oct. 17, down from 52% three days earlier. The outcome resolves YES only if a Binance ETH/USDT 1-minute candle prints a high of at least $2,600 by Oct. 31.

Hot September CPI Revived Fed Hike Fears Before the Oct 28 Meeting

The September CPI report, released Oct. 14, showed inflation at 3.7% year over year against a 3.6% forecast. Producer prices ran hotter still, at 6.3% versus 5.3% consensus. The prints revived talk of a rate hike at the Fed's Oct. 28 meeting, a risk CoinGabbar tied to the broad crypto slide. ETH fell to roughly $2,350 by Oct. 15, and about $106 million of ETH longs were liquidated in a single hour.

Geopolitics added the second leg on Oct. 16 and 17. Reports that President Trump was preparing to strike Iran within 24 hours pushed oil to a monthly peak and knocked risk assets lower, with ETH down 2.0% on the day, per Lypp. FXProspect reported ether briefly slipping below $2,400 as oil surged.

Flows are the third leg. Ether ETF products lost about $320 million from Oct. 12 to Oct. 16, overtaking bitcoin funds' weekly withdrawals, according to Farside data cited by Lypp. TokenPost counted outflows in 13 of 14 sessions. These events coincided with the odds decline, but no source confirms they caused traders to reprice.

What Could Move the ETH $2,600 Odds Before Month-End

The Oct. 28 Fed decision is the main dated test. A hike or hawkish guidance would support the lower odds; a hold with a softer tone would remove the catalyst that started the slide. A turn in ETF flows would also challenge the bearish case: spot ether funds logged one inflow day around Oct. 13, and Interactive Brokers' ETH staking launch and Deutsche Bank's planned ether custody give institutional demand a possible lift. De-escalation on Iran would ease the oil pressure that hit crypto on Oct. 16 and 17.

Technically, ETH trades below its 50-day EMA ($2,492) and 20-day EMA ($2,538), which together form the first resistance band before $2,600. Support sits at $2,411 to $2,355, then $2,204. Live pricing for every strike sits on the Ethereum October price-target market.

As of Oct. 17, ETH needs roughly a 7% rise in two weeks to hit $2,600 on Binance.
