- Traders now see Sandra Hüller as more likely than not to land a Best Actress nomination, though she still trails the field's frontrunners.
- Gold Derby says 'Rose' has overtaken 'Fatherland' as her stronger lead bid.

Sandra Hüller's chance of a Best Actress Oscar nomination is 64% on Kalshi's Oscar nominees: Best Actress market as of Oct. 21, 2026. She is a likely but unconfirmed nominee for the 99th Academy Awards with two lead performances: Markus Schleinzer's 'Rose', which won her the Silver Bear for Best Leading Performance at the Berlinale, and Paweł Pawlikowski's 'Fatherland', which opens Oct. 23. The Academy has not announced nominees, and the market resolves on Jan. 21, 2027.
Sandra Hüller's Chances of a Best Actress Oscar Nomination Are 64% on Kalshi
Kalshi priced Hüller at 64% on Oct. 21, 2026, up from 56% three days earlier, a gain of 8 percentage points. That figure is a market-implied probability that she receives a nomination. It is not a poll, and it is not a forecast that she wins. We could not establish a confirmed event in the past 72 hours that explains the jump.

The 56% reading is the low of the three-day window, so the full move ran from that floor to the latest price.
Why 'Rose' and 'Fatherland' Both Matter to Sandra Hüller's Oscar Campaign
Gold Derby reports that Hüller has four potential 2027 Oscar roles: 'Rose' (Mubi, US release Dec. 11) and 'Fatherland' in lead, plus 'Project Hail Mary' (as Eva Stratt opposite Ryan Gosling) and Alejandro G. Iñárritu's 'Digger' (opposite Tom Cruise) in supporting. The outlet says her Best Actress odds have "bloomed" as 'Rose' overtakes 'Fatherland'. That is Gold Derby's expert assessment, separate from the Kalshi price.
'Rose' carries institutional backing beyond the Berlinale prize. Austria selected it as its International Feature submission, and Schleinzer discussed Hüller's performance in a Variety interview on Oct. 14. 'Fatherland', by contrast, premiered at Cannes and reaches theaters first, two days after this price.
The chart shows the three-day price path. It does not show what caused the move.
The sources do not establish which film traders are backing, or whether Gold Derby's 'Rose' shift preceded or followed the price change. Gold Derby's piece is dated Oct. 13, earlier than this three-day window.
Hüller is chasing a crowded field. Julianne Moore ('The Debut') strengthened on Telluride reviews, according to Gold Derby's post-festival update, and Inde Navarrette ('Obsession') has climbed on Focus Features' lead campaign, ranking No. 2 behind Moore in Gold Derby's forecast, as Prediction.com reported Oct. 16. Both sit in firmer positions than Hüller.
Can Sandra Hüller Be Nominated for Both Films?
The Academy changed its rules in May 2026 to allow an actor more than one nomination in the same category, which would make a double lead nomination for Hüller theoretically possible. That removes the old risk of vote-splitting forcing a single lead entry. We could not confirm from the sources whether Kalshi's contract settles on Hüller as a person, regardless of film, so traders should check the settlement terms on the Oscar Best Actress nominees market before treating either film as the deciding factor.
What would settle the open question of this week's move: an identified catalyst, or precursor results such as guild and critics' nominations naming one film over the other.
