Vikings' Chances of the NFL's Best Regular-Season Record Double to 16% After 5-0 Start

The Minnesota Vikings' chance of finishing with the NFL's best regular-season record doubled from 8% to 16% in Kalshi's Pro Football Best Regular Season Record market. The move came over the three days through Oct. 12, after Minnesota beat New Orleans 23-13 on Oct. 11 to reach 5-0. Byron Murphy Jr. intercepted Saints quarterback Tyler Shough twice. Aaron Jones ran for 113 yards, and Justin Jefferson, back in the lineup, caught six passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.

Are the Vikings undefeated? Yes. Minnesota is 5-0, and so is San Francisco, which beat Seattle 32-29 on Oct. 11 behind a fourth-quarter touchdown drive capped by Brock Purdy's 7-yard pass to Mike Evans, according to NBC News. The market priced the 49ers at 34% on Oct. 12, more than double Minnesota's 16%. Baltimore and Kansas City trailed at 10% each.

The two unbeaten teams have built their records differently. Minnesota leads the NFL in points allowed (64, or 12.8 per game) but ranks 20th in points scored (109, or 21.8 per game). San Francisco owns the league's best point differential. The sources do not explain why the market prices the 49ers more than twice as high as the Vikings, and we could not establish the cause of the gap.

What Could Confirm or Reverse Minnesota's Price After the Bye Week

Minnesota is off this week. It leads the NFC North by two games over Chicago and Detroit. The Vikings return on Oct. 25 at home against the Indianapolis Colts. A win keeps them unbeaten. A loss would end their unbeaten status.

The roster heading into that game is thin in key spots. Tight end T.J. Hockenson and left tackle Christian Darrisaw are in concussion protocol. Guard Donovan Jackson has a torn meniscus, and running back Jordan Mason is on injured reserve with a thumb injury. Receiver Jordan Addison (hamstring) could return after the bye.

The Colts game on Oct. 25 is Minnesota's next chance to test its 16% price.
