Will Bitcoin Hit $100,000 in 2026? Market Now Says 22%, Down From 30%

The market says Bitcoin has a 22% chance of reaching $100,000 in 2026, down from 30% three days earlier, on Polymarket's "How high will Bitcoin get in 2026?" The drop followed a hot September U.S. inflation report that dragged Bitcoin below $82,000 on Oct. 14. Headline CPI rose 3.7% year over year against 3.6% expected, and core CPI climbed 0.3% month over month against 0.2%. Bitcoin fell from near $84,000 to about $81,300, according to CryptoSlate.

On Oct. 15, the ↑ 100,000 contract traded at 22%, down from 30% on Oct. 12. That is an 8-percentage-point drop, and 22% is the lowest price the contract has traded in that window.

The macro repricing was sharp. Kalshi odds of a 25bp Fed hike in October jumped after the print, though reported figures conflict across sources and snapshots. Ten-year Treasury yields rose 7 to 9 basis points, and the dollar strengthened to its highest level since May 2025. CryptoSlate reported more than $100 million in crypto liquidations in the hour after the CPI release and more than $220 million over 24 hours.

What a $100K Bitcoin Touch Requires From Here

Dividing $100,000 by $81,300 gives about 1.23, so Bitcoin needs a rally of roughly 23% from its Oct. 14 support level, with about 11 weeks left before the market resolves on Jan. 1, 2027. The target also sits more than 20% below the all-time high above $126,000 that Bitcoin set in October 2025.

Before the print, Bitcoin had been gaining. It briefly reached $84,000 early on Oct. 14 and held above $83,000 ahead of the data. Analysts now frame $81,300 to $84,000 as the working range and treat a daily close above $84,000 as a possible breakout signal.

What Could Move the Bitcoin $100K Market Next

The Fed meets Oct. 27-28, and September PCE inflation data follows on Oct. 29. Those are the next hard checkpoints. If the Fed holds rates and PCE runs cool, hike odds would likely fall and the main pressure behind this week's drop would ease. A hike or a hawkish signal would confirm the repricing.

Fed officials are not fully aligned on how far tightening goes. New York Fed President John Williams said one more hike this year may be appropriate, but he saw no need for hikes in 2027. His remarks weakened the dollar and lifted Bitcoin about 1.5% before the CPI release.

The move in the contract coincides with the CPI print, but the sources do not establish that inflation data alone drove it. Flows had already turned negative: spot Bitcoin ETFs lost about $729 million on Oct. 7-8. Data for Oct. 14 points the other way, with reported inflows of $167 million.

The bull case has backers. Strategy's Michael Saylor said Bitcoin should climb back above $100,000, but he gave no timeframe. Bernstein holds a $125,000 December target, and Citigroup's 12-month forecast is $113,000. Traders can follow every price tier on the How high will Bitcoin get in 2026? market page. The Oct. 28 Fed decision is the next test for a contract that priced a $100K touch at 22% on Oct. 15.
